Local artist and SOKY Happenings Artist in Residence Misha Ambrosia painted this month’s cover, titled “Mardi Gras Eyes” – a 48”x72” mixed media on canvas. Misha says, “[I] Loved creating this big beauty when I lived in New Orleans. She had rhinestones, glitter, crystals and I even used a Playboy model’s eyes as my reference material for this work. This painting adorned the Lobby of the Hotel Inter-Continental (on the parade route) in New Orleans during Mardi Gras 2002 as well as other carnival-themed paintings celebrating the seasoning of cavorting and frolicking.” Great job, Misha, and thanks!
