February is the month of love. I think we could all use a little more of that right now. I’m looking forward to sunny days ahead going shopping and out to lunch with friends decked in spring frocks and sandals. Shake off the January blues and put aside some of those pandemic outfits. Give the tie-dye loungers a rest, and while you’re at it, retire your ripped jeans. It’s time to inject some new in your wardrobe. The good news is you can find some great sale items to transition from winter to spring.
Not ready to give up your “comfy” clothes? Velour “track suits” are back, and we have matching jackets and pants in a yummy berry color from Lilly Pulitzer on sale. Add some leopard tennis shoes, and you just took comfortable to a whole new level.
Joggers are still around, but in dressier fabrics. Joseph Ribkoff offers them in their signature jersey. Black only, of course.
The best new investment piece to purchase is a blazer. Many are throwbacks to the 80’s boyfriend jacket. Make sure it has shoulder pads, pair with your new black joggers, and you are good to go.
Another way to wear your new blazer is with Bermuda shorts. Make sure they are high-waisted to make your legs appear longer.
Knit dresses are another strong category. Knits offer incredible comfort, but shown in a long, neutral color this look makes a strong fashion statement.
Voluminous sleeves are still trending… great look on wider-hipped gals to add balance.
The Pantone color of the year is “illuminating” – a beautiful, sunny yellow. We could all use a dose of sunshine. It looks stunning in a soft leather jacket. If that is too much for you – add a yellow handbag, or even a new strap for your existing one.
Hot pink and orange are also predominant to bring us happy vibes. And we always can count on the so chic black and white combination.
I hope you can visit us soon at Pappagallo to see new spring fashions and nab a sale item before they are gone. If you are not comfortable shopping in person, we offer FaceTime shopping, curbside or home delivery and personal appointments.
Remember, our love of fashion will keep us together.
