They say, “Time flies when you’re having fun” and I’ve found that, actually, time flies no matter what. But I believe Twila and I will both agree that producing SOKY Happenings Magazine each month has been a lot of fun… and, yes, the time has flown. We enjoy being able to share so much interesting, entertaining and enlightening information each month without having to include anything negative.
I say all that to say, “Happy 17th Birthday, SOKY!” So many new businesses don’t survive their first year or two, so to see SOKY starting its 17th year is a wonderful blessing. Twila and I adopted SOKY in its fifth year and are so proud to be starting our 13th year of helping many small businesses and non-profits be able to share their important messages to a large audience in an extremely cost-efficient way.
Twila and I still do nearly all the delivery of the magazines every month. We didn’t intend it that way but it was so much fun… and such a great excuse to be out of the office for a day or two… that we have kept doing it all these years. And every month it is so rewarding to have folks get excited when they see the new issue hit the racks and stop us in stores and parking lots to get “my copy of SOKY” before it even gets to the racks.
So, this seems like the perfect time to say “Thank You” to all the folks who have helped SOKY make it to its 17th birthday. Thank you to all the artists who have made SOKY so beautiful over the years… the painters who have graced our cover and been Artist Profiles, the graphic designers who have made the ads in SOKY often as much art as the covers, and the writers who share ideas, information and creative thoughts through their articles.
