As we look ahead to October, November, and December, we touch on three different holidays – Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Community Day: Kick off the holiday season with our Community Day on October 19th! This year, we’ve aligned the event with Downtown Bowling Green’s Harvest Festival, putting an even bigger spotlight on community celebration. Just across the street from the festival, SKyPAC will offer a day full of hands-on activities like pumpkin painting, an instrument petting zoo, and story time with volunteers. You’ll also enjoy backstage tours and performances from Orchestra Kentucky, Ramsey Theatre Company, BG OnStage, and the Golden Chorale, along with art galleries, photo booths, and a costume contest! And a big thank you to Jackson’s Orchard and Nursery for donating pumpkins for our Community Day.
Your participation not only celebrates the arts, but also supports the continued growth of Southern Kentucky’s cultural scene. Best of all, admission is FREE! Stop by SKyPAC between 10am and 2pm to experience the creative energy of your community firsthand.
10th Annual Gingerbread House Contest: Christmas is just around the corner, and so is our 10th Annual Gingerbread Homes for the Arts Contest! The contest runs from November 17th to 22nd at SKyPAC. We’re inviting professionals and amateurs of all ages to enter, either solo or with friends. Graves Gilbert Clinic will provide prizes and awards for winning participants. Entries are due by Sunday, November 17th, with judging on Monday, November 18th. The gingerbread houses will be displayed Tuesday through Friday for visitors to view and vote for their favorite, deciding the People’s Choice Award! Registration is due by November 1st. •Thursday, December 19th: The Oak Ridge Boys 2024 American Made Christmas Farewell Tour The Oak Ridge Boys’ Christmas tour is always a holiday favorite, and this year’s American Made Christmas Farewell Tour is coming to Bowling Green! Enjoy a mix of holiday tunes – religious, romantic, and fun – along with the Grammy Award-winning quartet’s classic hits like “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue,” and “Thank God For Kids.” Celebrate the career of The Oak Ridge Boys in this perfect holiday show!
