Fortify your health with Crouch Chiropractic

If the past five years have taught us anything, they have most definitely shown us that you have to take health into your own hands. The absolute truth is that you don’t know what virus or sickness is around the corner. Living your life recklessly without care for what you put in your body or how you take care of it can lead to health decline and opportunity for sickness to prevail and quite possibly loss of life. If you make a plan to fortify your health, you help your body to be prepared for battle against any health challenge that may come your way.

COVID-19 hit the world hard. Most people, including my own family, lost loved ones that were near and dear to our hearts due to complications of COVID-19. The big talk when COVID-19 started causing deaths was the ones who had comorbidities were at the greatest risk. A comorbidity is when someone is dealing with more than one disease or medical condition at the same time. If you live long enough a chronic health challenge like heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure can show up. It’s also easy to say if you live a perfect life and eat the perfect diet you will not have any of these but that simply is not true. Health challenges can hit you no matter what your age or how well you’ve taken care of your health and when they do you have to be ready to fight them head on. The best way to do this is to fortify your health with a great healthcare team and a great health plan.

Creating a great healthcare team does take a little time. You must take some time and research what is available to you. You not only want to find health practitioners that are close to where you live but also have positive and proven reviews and are in your health insurance network.

A great healthcare team should consist of both allopathic and holistic healthcare practitioners. Allopathic medicine primarily cares for people using drugs, radiation, or surgery. Allopathic medical care can be lifesaving, necessary, and absolutely should be included. Homeopathic and holistic healthcare should also be included in a well-rounded healthcare plan. Holistic healthcare is looking at the person as a whole and not just focusing on the one part of the body that is struggling.

For example, if someone is a type 2 diabetic it means their body is not producing enough good quality insulin to handle the amount of sugar in the bloodstream, creating high blood sugar levels. Over time this can greatly damage the body. Instead of just giving the person insulin the holistic approach is figuring out why the pancreas is not able to keep up with producing good insulin to capture the sugar in the blood. The answer is sometimes as simple as helping the patient change their diet, reduce sugar, reduce carbohydrates, and take the stress off the pancreas to help it to start working effectively again.

As a chiropractor my aim is to always take a holistic approach with patients. We want to look at the whole health of the person. We also want to use natural methods, leaving drugs and surgery as options when there are no other natural options. Chiropractors are also very concerned with preventative care. We would like to identify potential health problems or minor issues before they become larger chronic problems. Chiropractors are also interested in helping their patients take proactive individual approaches in nutrition, dietary choices, exercise, muscle imbalances, and stress management.

Other holistic practitioners that can help make a full, well-rounded healthcare team are: acupuncturists, massage therapists, naturopaths, iridologists, aromatherapy, Reiki practitioners, and herbalists. The goal is to address underlying deficiencies while promoting proactive healthy lifestyle choices.

When your body encounters a virus or a major illness hits out of the blue, the best defense is to always be prepared. If your body is already struggling to get by day after day it will be even more difficult for you to overcome. Take a survey of your health choices and health professionals in your life. Find a good healthcare team and take a proactive approach towards your diet, exercise routine, and daily habits. Fortify your health with good proactive choices and be ready for when your next healthcare challenge comes your way.
