Are you destined to work in the business management field? Do you have entrepreneurial spirit? Are you a born leader? Are you a good boss? Can you sway even the most stubborn people or are you the great communicator? If you have one or all of these skills, you may be destined to work in business management.
Sign #1 – Entrepreneurial Spirit
Did you run a lemonade stand when you were a kid? Dream of opening a business or startup? If you have the entrepreneurial spirit, you may be destined to work in business management. Many business tycoons started out as little entrepreneurs.
Mark Cuban inherited his entrepreneurial spirit from his parents. At the age of 12, Cuban sold sets of garbage bags to save up for a pair of shoes. In high school, he earned extra dollars by becoming a stamp and coin salesman. At an early age, Cuban was destined to work in business.
Bill Gates ran a traffic monitoring business in Seattle as a teenager. At the age of 15, Gates went into business with Paul Allen, a classmate Bill had met at Lakeside School. They developed “Traf-o-Data,” a computer program that monitored traffic patterns in Seattle. Gates showed tendencies to being entrepreneurial as a teenager and was destined to work in business.
Richard Branson was a natural born entrepreneur as he learned at an early age from his mother. One of his mother’s most successful ventures was building and selling wooden tissue boxes and wastepaper bins. Richard Branson learned early on that he was destined to work in business.
If you have entrepreneurial spirit, a career in business management might be right for you. Preparing for an entry-level career in business management can lead to a successful career in the business industry.
Sign #2 – A Born Leader
Are you a born leader? You may have been destined to work in business management. Many leaders learned at an early age that they, too, were born leaders.
Nelson Mandela’s father served as a counselor to tribal chiefs for several years. Mandela learned at an early age how to lead from his role models. In his teens, Mandela was groomed to work in the office of the chief. In college, he was elected to the Student Representative Council. Many saw that Mandela was a natural born leader.
A good leader is honest, has the ability to delegate, is a good communicator, shows confidence, is committed, and keeps a positive attitude. Have these leadership skills? You may be destined to work in the business management field.
Sign #3 – You’re a Good Boss
Did you boss your siblings around? Run for a high school government position? You may be destined to become a supervisor or work in the human resources field.
Richard Branson not only has entrepreneurial spirit but he is also a great boss to work for. He understands that his employees come first, and in 2014, he announced that he would give Virgin Group employees unlimited vacation time. In 2015, he added to that generosity with a year’s paid leave for new parents working in London and Geneva.
A good boss is a positive thinker, honest, able to delegate and can keep an entire team focused. A good boss also gives credit where credit is due, encourages employees to grow and offers praise for even the little things. If these traits are present in your character you may be destined to work in business management.
Sign #4 – Problem? Let’s Solve it
Were you a master at the Rubik’s Cube? Could you get the high score on Tetris? Many people that are destined to work in business were also good problem solvers.
The founders of Google, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, were born problem solvers. Page was influenced early on by his father, a computer science professor at Michigan State University, and mother, a computer programming instructor. In his early years, Page studied music composition, which influenced his obsession with computing. Brin’s parents were problem solvers in their own right. Sergey’s father taught mathematics at the University of Maryland and his mother was a researcher at NASA. Page and Brin were problem solvers at an early age went on to create the most advanced search engine the world had ever seen.
A good problem solver has an ability to be analytical; they have logical reasoning, are persistent and take the initiative. Do you have these skills? You may be destined to work in the business management field.
Sign #5 – The Great Communicator
When you talk, do people listen? Did your classmates rally around you in school? If you are a great communicator a career in business management may be right for you.
Abraham Lincoln was born a great communicator as he learned from his father at a young age. Lincoln’s father was well respected in the community. Lincoln would go on to unite the country and earn the respect of all Americans during his addresses to the nation. His most famous, the Gettysburg Address, was delivered during the American Civil War. As a great communicator, Abraham Lincoln worked in business as a shopkeeper, postmaster and general store owner before becoming the president of the United States.
A good communicator is able to listen, understand body language, keeps eye contact, is concise, friendly, confident, empathetic, has an open mind and has respect for others. A good communicator can convey information effectively and efficiently. If you show these communicator skills you may be destined to work in the business management field.
