The holiday season and a seemingly never-ending stream of holiday parties lends itself to some glamour and glitz. From the office party or cocktail party to the school Christmas party or a dinner party with friends – December makes us step up our fashion game. Instead of reaching for that same old tired Christmas sweater (you know the one I am talking about!), try something new this year.
Designers are having a love affair with velvet this year. Spandex has been added so it is super comfy and fits great. Even if you are just wearing your jeans to an event, add a velvet off-the-shoulder top or blazer to elevate your look. For dressier affairs, a pair of black velvet palazzo pants adds the perfect touch of elegance. If you don’t want to invest in velvet clothing, buy a handbag or a scarf. You can even rock your velvet at home waiting for Santa Claus. P.J. Salvage has pink crushed velvet pajamas. Could it get any better?
Christmas parties call for festive attire. Something red definitely does the trick and is both appropriate for the holiday season and perfectly on trend. Instead of the usual LBD (little black dress), break out and wear a Christmas red dress. Head-to-toe red not for you? Try red jewelry on your black ensemble.
Be daring this season and show some skin, but please not too much at the office party. Cold-shoulder and off-the-shoulder tops are feminine and flattering yet not too racy. Pretty details to add are bell sleeves, cutwork or lace. They say opposites attract – leather and lace are the perfect mix of tough and romantic. Try pairing leather leggings with an off-the-shoulder tunic with lace trim.
“Everything that glitters is not gold,” it is silver, bronze, copper, rose gold – any metallic is in. Sweaters, jackets, and dresses are trimmed in or even have all-over lurex threads. The clothes this season sparkle with glamour for all our holiday gatherings.
Still not sure what to wear to the party? Stop in Pappagallo and let me help you shine this season.
I want to wish everyone a very blessed and Merry Christmas!
