Promo producer of “Property Brothers” & “Home Town” to share his story
Have you ever wondered how to get started with your career and how you sell yourself as a professional in the path you have chosen? One of Western Kentucky University’s graduates will share his personal story on September 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Downing Student University Auditorium.
Santos Lopez learned the art of communication while a student at WKU and continued to use those skills while he developed his own personal brand. He will share his experience about creating and managing a personal brand and effectively using it in an interview.
The skills Lopez developed brought him success in marketing and promoting many highly rated television shows including “Property Brothers” and “Home Town.” Other shows he’s worked with include “Brother vs. Brother,” Property Brothers at Home,” “Fixer Upper,” and “Ellen’s Design Challenge” with Ellen DeGeneres.
During the event, Lopez will host a video from Drew and Jonathan Scott for WKU students as well as a live Skype session with Ben and Erin Napier of “Home Town.” The Napiers will be discussing their journey from blogging to a hit series on HGTV. They will also be talking about the role promotion and marketing had on crafting an authentic southern voice.
Other credits Lopez brings back to WKU include working at CMT International where he promoted breakthrough shows like “Gone Country” with Bobby Brown, the CMT Music Awards, and the launch of “CMT Crossroads.”
Sponsored by the WKU Department of Communication, this event is free and open to the public.
