Most of you are aware that diabetes has increased by a shocking percentage in this country in the last 40 years. Why is that? Yes, we’ve grown accustomed to all things becoming easier to do without physical exertion. That’s part of it. No, we don’t drink enough pure water to flush all the toxins out of our bodies. That’s part of it. There are now more toxins than ever before in history in our food, water and air in the United States of America making it extremely hard for our bodies’ organs, glands and systems to work as they should. That too, is part of it. We have become so accustomed to air conditioning that we no longer go outside for walks or to throw a ball with the kids or even go for a swim because it’s “too hot and humid!”
But the main reason diabetes has increased so much is the bad information about how and what we should eat. We have become spoiled to that momentary pleasure of the taste of sugar on our lips and tongue or to that crunch of a good potato chip, but there is a better way to eat! A way that will flush toxins from your body; a way that will not cause your blood sugar readings to spike; a way that is delicious; a way that will give you energy and reduce inflammation and swelling; a way that will put a smile on your face and joy in your heart! Who doesn’t want that?
Nutrition Center cares so much about this community (and all people, everywhere) that we are holding a special seminar to teach you how different foods affect your body and therefore, your blood sugar. Most of the information we’ve been given in the last 40-50 years has been just plain wrong. It was based on one flawed study saying all fat was bad and made you fat, but in fact, there are fats that are absolutely essential for good health. When this study was published, everyone jumped on the bandwagon and food “manufacturers” came up with tons of fat-free foods that were loaded with sugar, sometimes disguised as corn syrup and other deceptive names.
The good news is that there is a way to eat delicious, satisfying food that is highly beneficial to your body, that will make your brain work better, that will satisfy your appetite and keep you from being hungry!
Come join Katy on her journey out of diabetes and into freedom. This informative event will be held on Saturday, August 10, at Nutrition Center, 715 US 31W Bypass, in Bowling Green. It will begin at 10 a.m. and end around 1 p.m. There will be healthy “treats” to sample. If you or anyone you know is diabetic, insulin resistant or simply overweight, you don’t want to miss this event. It may be life changing for you!
We will encourage you to discuss what you learn with your doctor. He or she will need to monitor how your blood sugar is responding to a new way of eating. Our main speaker for the seminar is Brady Raines. Brady is a student of Integrative Nutrition and has a passion for helping people reverse diabetes. Katy Jennings, owner of Nutrition Center, will also have information for you. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, August 10, at 10 a.m.!
