There are valid questions. Is Hot Yoga safe? Is Hot Yoga beneficial? Is Hot Yoga healthy? How is Hot Yoga’s efficiency in comparison to other yoga methodologies? How does it compare to other forms of exercise? Why is Hot Yoga so popular?
The answer to all those questions can be capsuled into one sentence: Hot Yoga is the most time-tested, all-inclusive, all-encompassing and inherently safe physical practice the world has seen – with strength, endurance, detoxification, mental clarity, balance, flexibility, caloric expenditure, healing, relaxation, joy, and the cleanest, healthiest physical atmosphere possible being parts of the equation.
Regardless of what you may have heard (unfortunately, often from people who don’t really know in the first place), we invite you give Hot Yoga a try. A few classes. A few weeks of multiple classes. It’s life changing in so many ways. And virtually everyone can reap great benefits from practicing Hot Yoga. All ages, all genders, all backgrounds, and folks with most physical conditions will find classes suitable for you at Hot Yoga Bowling Green, Kentucky. Always remember to consult with your primary care physician or trusted healthcare professional before beginning any program of physical exercise.
Hot Yoga is safe. It is safer than most.
Here is the breakdown:
1, Hot Yoga creates the perfect environment for getting stronger & healthier with therapeutic radiant heat and steam humidity.
2. Deep breathing is practiced before & during class to warm every system of the body and promote efficient respiration.
3. Foundation, form, and function are practiced in every class to insure proper alignment and physical focus.
4. The movements of the classes are led by experienced teachers in a slower to moderate pace to promote learning and correct placement.
5. “Safety first” is always a priority for all teachers and all classes.
6. Proper social distancing & safe cleaning measures are now in place!
7. The Yoga Room features a smooth, radiant heat system plus a state-of-the-art Ionic HEPA filtration system incorporating steam humidity to effectively KILL mold, mildew, germs, bacteria, viruses, and trap particulates such as dust, dust mites, dirt, allergens, and odors.
8. The room is heated to 100-105 degrees F (which feels amazing!) and the steam humidifier heats filtered water to boiling to kill any pathogens which may be present in the air. The HEPA filter freshens, traps & kills to complete the process.
9. The therapeutic heat warms the skin, opens the pores, improves blood flow, warms the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and the internal body to give you a near perfect preparation to the best physical exercise.
10. Rather than attempting to move, stretch and warm up in a cold atmosphere (which is not as safe), Hot Yoga methodically takes your body and mind into each pose with maximum efficiency and safety!

And now, here it is… your June 2020 ‘Pause for a Pose’: The “Yoga Mama” Malasana Advancement
This posture is best when practiced toward the end of your yoga sequence or after a nice workout or run. Begin in standing and step your feet out shoulder width or slightly wider. Inhale reaching upward and then bend the knees upon the exhale and drop down into a deep squat position with the tailbone as close to the floor as possible and the feet flat. Straighten your back as much as you can without causing pain. This is a great pose for opening the hip flexors and hip extensors. Relax and breathe. Now, two possible advancements for more challenge and muscle strengthening: Raise the heels off the floor and hold here with the calves thoroughly engaged. Breathe and hold the pose for 3 to 10 breaths. Release and repeat. For a leg-burning variation, leave the feet flat and raise the hips up until the thighs are parallel or until the knees are almost locked and then lower back down as deeply as possible. Repeat the raising and lowering the hips for ten reps or more. Breathe always! Now enjoy practicing this great posture all month and we will see you soon at Hot Yoga! God bless and stay safe…
