The 16th Annual 400 Mile Sale Across Kentucky’s Historic Highway 68 is scheduled for October 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 2020 (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday). This ultimate shop-til-you-drop event benefits all the communities that fall along US Highway 68. Some of the communities include: Reidland (just outside Paducah), Benton, Cadiz, Elkton, Russellville, Auburn, Rockfield, Bowling Green, Smiths Grove, Glasgow, Edmonton, Campbellsville, Harrodsburg, Wilmore, Millersburg, Paris, Carlisle, Mays Lick, Washington, and Maysville.
In addition to the individual vendors, hotels, motels, restaurants, antique shops, campgrounds, State Parks and gas stations all reap the benefit of having hundreds of shoppers traveling along US Highway 68. Some use this Sale to benefit their fundraisers for schools and churches. Most antique shops, boutiques, or other unique businesses benefit with more foot traffic and sales. Others use this as an opportunity to empty out garages, attics, barns, and their homes. Whatever you feel like doing usually works for the 400 Mile Sale, whether for participating for one day or all four.
Don’t miss out on this four-day event and plan on participating as a shopper or having a sale yourself. People have come for years planning in advance to celebrate their anniversaries, vacations, a girls’ trip, or just a shopping expedition for the weekend. Life long friends have been made and people look forward to getting caught up every year while they are shopping the hundreds of yard sales.
Food is plentiful all along the route whether it is yummy BBQ or freshly grilled burgers to homemade chicken salad or a special treat from a food truck. There will be lots of things to try and enjoy.
