The Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library and the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center, both of Glasgow, Kentucky, are partnering with the support of the Kentucky Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities to bring the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street exhibit titled Crossroads: Changes in Rural America to Glasgow. The exhibit will be located in the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center at 200 W. Water Street from April 10 to May 15. A variety of events including speakers, a cemetery tour, exhibits, a book discussion, basket weaving demonstration and a jelly-making demonstration highlighting rural South Central Kentucky will be presented during the exhibit period. A Bill Goodman podcast interview of players who contributed to the E41 Voices of the Segregated Past booklet as well as copies of the booklet will be available to review during this time as well.
Many programs will be virtual due to the pandemic. Check the Facebook pages of the Cultural Center and the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library for details.
We hope you will make plans to attend. You won’t want to miss this special opportunity to celebrate our local heritage.
