The past year has been challenging, yet it has highlighted our resilience and strength as a community. Workers on the front lines showed up in the face of danger to keep our grocery shelves stocked, our neighborhoods safe and our Amazon orders delivered. Other workers stayed home, enduring Zoom meetings and YouTube workouts, to keep others safe. Teachers donated their Clorox wipes and dental offices donated their gloves. And the healthcare heroes did what they do best, serve others.
The need for Hospice care didn’t stop in the face of COVID, so neither did we. Hospice of Southern Kentucky adapted to safely care for patients and families, innovating and employing technology to deliver quality care. With the help of our friends and supporters, we never went without, and for that we are deeply grateful.
Since 1981, Hospice of Southern Kentucky has celebrated those we have served with a Memorial Day dedication. Hospice of Southern Kentucky is committed to our community and the patients and families we serve and in helping keep memories alive. This year’s event is meant not only for the families of Hospice of Southern Kentucky, but everyone who is grieving a loss.
Hospice of Southern Kentucky invites you to Illuminations 2021, a Memorial and Honorarium Event, on May 11th at Circus Square Park. From 3pm-8pm, Remembrance Light Towers will be set up around the park and you can stop by and write messages of love and remembrance, and memorial names on the towers. A program will take place at 6pm and we invite guests to come and share in this time of reflection and celebration with us.
