Having a big time in a small town is what we do best with free live concerts in our Downtown Historic District during the summer.
Bring your family and friends and sit under the stars while you enjoy live performances by some of the hottest bands in the area.
The series of free Friday night concerts is hosted by the Franklin-Simpson Renaissance. Our 2021 sponsors are Franklin Bank and Trust Co. and Franklin-Simpson Tourism. Our first concert will kick off June 18 and the series runs through the end of August.
“Our beautiful downtown Courtyard is the perfect setting for our free concert series,” said Kim Roberts, Executive Director of Franklin-Simpson Renaissance. “Bring a lawn chair, grab a bite of food from one of our street vendors or area restaurants, sit back and relax to some great music. It is a family-friendly environment that offers something for everyone of all ages.”
The concerts are held on the lawn of the historic Simpson County Courthouse beginning at 7pm and wrap up at 9pm. Lawn chair rental is available. The Summer Nights Concert are: The Brandon Harris Band on June 18, Buelers Day Off on June 25, Jimmy Church on July 16, Andy And The Rockers on July 30, Sidewinders on August 13, and Tyrone Dunn & Kinfoke on August 27.
“Come to Franklin a little early and shop with some of our downtown merchants. Most of the shops will be open until the concerts begin.” Mrs. Roberts said. “We have some great shops offering local art, furniture, clothing, antiques, sporting goods, candy, ice cream, jewelry and much more.”
There are several events planned to coincide with the concert schedule this summer. The F-S Chamber of Commerce will host the Garden Spot ½ Mile Kids Run on August 13 before the Sidewinders play. The Run is a kickoff event for the Garden Spot 5K Run on Saturday morning. The downtown merchants will be having a Fall Crawl shopping event on August 27 before the concert that night. Tyrone Dunn will begin the wind-down of the season on Friday night August 27th, then the next morning the inaugural Summer Vibes Music Festival will finish out the concert season with a full day of food, art, beer gardens, selfie stations and will feature eight of some of the region’s hottest bands including The Josephines. “2020 was a hard year for everyone and Renaissance is excited to be back in the game with this concert series – the community seems ready for this.”
