It’s back and better than ever! You know your family doesn’t want to miss Aviation Heritage Park’s annual Hangar Party, set for Saturday, August 28, 2021, 5pm-10pm, at the Bowling Green/Warren County Regional Airport.
Your ticket is ALL-INCLUSIVE, including a delicious barbecue dinner, free drinks (including adult beverages), aircraft displays and flyovers, and dancing to local band favorite, Bueler’s Day Off. This annual event is a summertime tradition here, and the organizers are delighted to be hosting it again, after a year’s absence due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The 2021 Hangar Party will be held to honor Bowling Green native Col. Arthur (Mac) Reynolds. Colonel Reynolds was assigned duties with HMX-1 in 1999 and held the title of the Presidential Helicopter Pilot, serving three presidents: Reagan, George W. Bush and Clinton, and one vice-president: George H.W. Bush. The Sikorsky VH-3 “Marine One” honoring Col. Reynolds was placed on permanent display at Aviation Heritage Park in 2020 during the COVID lockdown.
Party gates open at 5pm. Tickets are available on AviationHeritagePark.com using credit card and via cash purchases only at Ford’s Furniture, Nat’s Outdoor Sports, Chuck’s Liquor on Three Springs Road, and Barbara Stewart Interiors. Tickets are $40/adults, $15/children six-12, five and under are free.
Interested in some high flying? A very special guest will be returning to Bowling Green during Hangar Party weekend. The Ozark, Alabama-based group “Friends of Army Aviation” will be offering rides on a UH-1H Huey helicopter at the Bowling Green/Warren County Airport. Rides on the Huey are offered three days: Friday, August 27, 3pm-7pm, Saturday, June 28, 9am-6pm and Sunday, June 16, 9am-7pm. This event is solely the responsibility of Friends of Army Aviation, and is not associated with Aviation Heritage Park. Tickets are $75 each and available on FriendsofArmyAviation.org.
