I wanted to do something special this month. In honor of my co-worker, Kenny Beckman, celebrating his year anniversary this month, I thought you should get a chance to know him. You may or may not know this, but Kenny is engaged to WNKY evening anchor Morgan Hoover. They have purchased a house in downtown Bowling Green where they live with their dog, Bruno. Being the young couple they are, you are very likely to find them at any and all local events. So I thought I could let Kenny take over for me and tell you himself about his experience in our town and about some of his favorite things. Enjoy!
Safe to say we feel right at home in Bowling Green! From the minute we arrived, we knew it was gonna serve us well. Normally, when you move to a new town and you’re unfamiliar with your surroundings, it typically takes awhile to get accustomed. That really wasn’t the case when we got to Bowling Green. We were instantly hit with the community feel from the attractions, the sights and the beautiful history that stands strong here.
Whether it’s a low-key weekend spent downtown at some of our favorite local spots like The Bistro or 440 Main, or spending an evening at a BG Hot Rods game, there are many activities we love to take advantage of! We learned quickly that there is no shortage of fun around this town! Come this Fall, you’ll be sure to see both me and Morgan at a WKU football game, as well! Having grown up in a small town in Tennessee most of my life, to making a major move to Anchorage, Alaska where we spent almost two years, finding ourselves where we are now a part of the Bowling Green community is really special. Especially when we can say we both work in careers that try to give back to the community we keep falling in love with more each day.
This month we have been here a year, and I think I can safely say that we can’t wait to see what happens next as we continue to embrace the Bowling Green community the same way it has us.
