The old saying, “You’ve come a long way, Baby” has become a cliché but it is totally appropriate when describing The Mint Gaming Hall Kentucky Downs in Franklin, Kentucky. While Kentucky Downs has been around for many years, two years ago we kicked off the addition of The Mint Gaming Hall to the facility, marking a huge step in entertainment and service to the area. Plus, there was an expansion and extensive remodel that added to the facility’s appeal.
In addition to the live racing, for which the property was originally known, the new name, The Mint, reflects the amazing selection of exciting gaming machines available for your entertainment. With jackpots ranging from $600 to our all-time record of $780,307 – you’re sure to find a favorite.
Additional improvements in the past two years have included the addition of a non-smoking area as well as wonderful food and drink options. Visit Irons Steakhouse for excellent food and service in a horse racing-themed comfortable environment. Corner Café provides all-day breakfast, along with great lunch and dinner choices and we proudly serve Starbucks® coffee selections. And, of course, don’t miss the great cocktail, beer and drink choices at the Oasis Sidebar and incredible Center Bar. Also, for your entertainment, we added a great new stage area where a number of talented local performers entertain live on a regular basis.
As we enter our third year as The Mint, we continue to offer daily simulcasting of horse racing and are proud to be able to support three community partners by providing space for charity bingo.
