Christmas will be here before you know it, and so will our Gingerbread Homes for The Arts Festival! Our eighth annual festival will be taking place November 13th-November 19th at SKyPAC. There are so many fun events and activities planned for the week that are sure to be exciting for everyone in our community.
Centered around the beloved holiday tradition of decorating Gingerbread Houses, the festival kicks off with our Gingerbread House Contest. SKyPAC is looking for professionals and amateurs of all ages to enter individually or team up with friends/loved ones for the contest. Those that enter will have the chance to win awards and prizes – provided by Graves Gilbert Clinic. Gingerbread House entries are to be delivered to SKyPAC by Sunday, November 13th. Judging will take place on Monday, November 14th. The houses will be on display Tuesday-Saturday for SKyPAC visitors to view and vote on. The entries we receive are always remarkable, come see them for yourself and vote for your favorite. Your votes will decide who will win the People’s Choice Award!
Thursday, November 17th, is the return of a favorite event – Eat, Drink and Be Artsy. Eat, Drink and Be Artsy is the perfect way to spend a Ladies’ Night Out. Socialize and be artsy, while enjoying food catered by La Gala, a wine bar, a special holiday cocktail and incredible raffles and prizes. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Arts of Southern Kentucky. To register, call SKyPAC’s box office at 270-904-1880.
Friday, November 18th, come and view the lobby that will be transformed into a winter wonderland. Take your own pictures and take in the sights. Gingerbread Houses will be available to view and beautiful Christmas trees will be decking the halls of SKyPAC.
Saturday, November 19th, is Community Day and the day the Gingerbread Homes for the Arts Festival wraps. Everyone is welcome to visit SKyPAC on this exciting day! Come take pictures with Santa Claus, enjoy local entertainment, balloon and caricature artists and build your own Gingerbread House! Pick up your itinerary and visit each station on the list to pick up a free prize. The Gingerbread House kits are also free, thanks to Baird Financial’s generous sponsorship.
