Join Family Enrichment Center on March 24th and 25th for our annual Run & Walk for Children sponsored by German American Bank!
The Run & Walk for Children serves as a kick-off to April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and is held at Ephram White Park. This fundraiser has been the backbone event for the agency, raising over $50,000 each year, with 100% of the net proceeds going to support our Wee Care Childcare facility to ensure parents have access to reduced cost, quality care for their children.
We are super excited to be bringing back the pre-race festivities that include a Pasta Party, the Kids 100 Yard Dash, and a Family Wellness Expo. The Expo is FREE to attend and will include wellness vendors in addition to family/child-centered activities. Attendees and race participants may purchase tickets to the Pasta Party for $7. Saturday’s event roster includes three categories: a half-marathon, 5K run, and a 5K fun walk. Participants will receive a race T-shirt and our half marathon, 5K run and children’s race participants will receive a finisher’s medal.
You can be a part of our mission to promote healthy family functioning by registering for the event as a participant, volunteering on race day, or making a donation at www.FamilyEnrichmentCenter.com/RunWalk.
WEAR BLUE FOR KENTUCKY KIDS ON MARCH 31ST!
Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time for everyone to stop and think about how we as a community can help ensure children grow up healthy and free from harm. On March 31st at 10am in Fountain Square Park, we will be hosting a public proclamation, along with City and County officials, to recognize the start of this important month. We invite community members to join us at the proclamation and wear blue in support of Wear Blue for Kentucky Kids Day. We would love to see community members share photos of their families and or workplaces dressed in blue by tagging #WearBlue4KYKids and Family Enrichment Center. To learn more about April Child Abuse Prevention Month festivities, including our Supportive Communities Conference on April 28th at Knicely Conference Center, visit www.FamilyEnrichmentCenter.com or call 270-781-6714.
Family Enrichment Center is supported by the Cabinet of Health and Family Services, the Face It Movement, Kappa Delta, Kentucky Bar Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, United Way of Southern Kentucky, WHAS Crusade for Children, and local businesses/community contributions.
