Are you a believer?
Well, you can believe that Franklin, Kentucky will be grooving to the tunes of the multi-platinum band Smash Mouth on Aug. 26 at the Summer Vibes Music Festival.
The free outdoor festival will be held in the streets in downtown Franklin and begins at noon.
You may be “Walkin’ on the Sun” but there will be plenty of shade in the courtyard. The rock/pop band, who hails from San Jose, will headline the third year for the Summer Vibes Music Festival. Smash Mouth formed in 1994 and brought on new frontman, Zach Goode, in 2022. The band has been touring across the nation playing new tunes and some old favorites.
With hits like “All Star,” “Walkin’ on the Sun,” and “I’m a Believer,” Smash Mouth has fans ranging in all ages.
The beer garden and food trucks will open at noon with the Songwriters Showcase beginning at 1pm. The event will be held in downtown Franklin, Kentucky just off Main Street.
Local songwriters include Josh Thurman, Todd Caudill, Tom McClure, Audrey Spillman, Lance Rogers, Candace Barbee and Logan Murrell.
The bands for the festival will begin at 3pm with the sister duo of Rachal and Emily Schmieder – The Restless. The Restless plays a mix of pop-influenced music that will pull at your heartstrings. The blend of their voices is beautiful. The Restless have Kentucky and Tennessee ties and attended Belmont University.
The rocking brother/sister band of Born Crooked returns to the Summer Vibes stage from the inaugural year. Siblings, Hunter Wolfe on vocals and guitar and ARE Wolfe on drums and percussion, will rock the stage!
Nashville-based rock/pop band Kid Politics and country/rock group Whiskey, Cash and Roses will round out the lineup before Smash Mouth hits the stage.
There is no admission to the festival, which is being presented by Simpson County Tourism Commission and Franklin-Simpson Renaissance. The event is sponsored by The Mint Gaming Hall, The City of Franklin, German American Bank, Hunt Auto, Franklin-Simpson Community Arts Council, Franklin-Simpson Chamber of Commerce, Simpson County Fiscal Court, Summitt Title Company and Thunder Sound Recording Studio.
