The internationally renowned designer, Joseph Ribkoff, was born in Montreal, Canada. He left school at the tender age of 15 and worked his way up to head up the shipping department of a garment manufacturer.
Ribkoff, with the support of his wife and friends, created his namesake brand in 1957. His label exclusively designs women’s dresses and wins a prestigious award in his first year of business. His consistent fit and contemporary designs grow in demand throughout Canada.
By 1978, his success leads to the opening of a new, larger production and office space in Montreal. Ribkoff expands his business again in 1992 to the European market.
Steady growth and innovation garners many awards for Ribkoff over the years.

Joseph Ribkoff celebrated 60 years in business in 2017. He describes his business as a “happy accident” that is still flourishing. Novacap acquired a majority stake in the company.
Today, his legacy lives on through the work of a devoted, talented team. The company is constantly evolving and striving towards better and greener alternatives. Joseph Ribkoff continues to design classic and contemporary garments for the fashion-forward woman with a youthful state of mind. The current fall 2023 line presents polished pieces that supply chic and infinitely cool fashion. This season introduces novelties in shades of Kelly Green, Violet, Tandoori, and Opulence; standout prints and textures as well as liquid and metallic finishes.
