After record-breaking heat, I’m looking forward to crisp fall days ahead. It’s time for pumpkin spice lattes, mums, football and sweaters. Boxes are arriving daily filled with all the newest styles. Here are some trends you will be seeing –
The return of the suit – the 80’s influence with strong-shoulder blazers paired with pencil skirts or slouchy slacks. Shorts with matching jackets are also trending. Monochromatic is key – jewel tones, tweeds (aka Chanel), vegan leather – matching is back.
Birds of a feather flock together – feather trim shows up unexpectedly on jean hems and blouse cuffs. Don’t worry, it removes easily for laundering.
Color, color, color – Pantone named Viva Magenta the color of the year, and bright colors have ridden right into fall. Red rules along with magenta and Kelly green. Head to toe bright if you dare.
Leather – remember it’s “vegan leather.” Offered in dresses, pants, blazers, blouses, skirts, shorts – wear all leather. Keep it monochromatic – black and brown are available, but color is important.
Sophisticated neutrals – cannot handle all the Barbiecore pink? Opt to lighten up with winter white and camels. Metallics coordinate with neutrals, and add some shine.
Python print – this could be the new leopard.
Glossy vinyl – this trend showed last up year in black jackets. Wear patent in red pants or skirt to be edgy.
Denim on denim – you can wear a denim shirt or jacket with your jeans. Wide legs are in, but skinny jeans are not dead. Pair your skinny jeans with knee high boots.
Mesh clothing is trending now into next year. It offers sheer without being too risqué.
Bold statement necklaces are back – the 80’s influence continues.
I think you can see monochromatic looks are an important part of every new trend.
