As we approach November and December, SKyPAC’s event calendar is filled with a range of activities and entertainment for our community. Our lineup features a delightful blend of both holiday and non-holiday events, all tailored to our community’s interests.
November Events:
•Holiday Film Series: Starting in November, SKyPAC presents a FREE holiday film series showcasing three beloved holiday movies. Visit our website for the lineup. The first screening is on November 24th at 7pm, sponsored by Q Coffee Emporium. The second screening takes place on November 26th at 3pm, sponsored by Service One Credit Union. The final film is scheduled for December 19th at 6:30pm, sponsored by Farmers Bank & Trust. All screenings are open to the public.
•9th Annual Gingerbread House Contest: From November 12th to the 18th, the 9th Annual Gingerbread House Contest invites professionals, amateurs, and groups to compete for cash prizes from Graves Gilbert Clinic. The gingerbread houses will be on display throughout the week for all to enjoy, with special thanks to Graves Gilbert Clinic for the prizes, BAIRD Financial for providing FREE Gingerbread kits, and Houchens Industries and Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College for their generous contributions.
•Additional November Events: SKyPAC’s November lineup starts with a SOLD-OUT show by Travis Tritt on November 2nd. On November 10th, Orchestra Kentucky collaborates with Brass Transit to celebrate the Music of Chicago, sponsored by Jim Johnson Nissan/Hyundai, English Lucas Priest and Owsley LLP, co-sponsored by Houchens Industries, The Glenview Trust Company, and The Impala Group. On November 12th, Blues Traveler takes the stage (rescheduled from May 2022). The Collingsworth Family performs on November 14th, co-sponsored by Logan Aluminum. November 16th hosts a Back Up the Blue Benefit Concert for Officer Matt Davis. Wrapping up November, comedian Dusty Slay will entertain at SKyPAC on November 18th.
December Events:
•Non-Holiday Events: SKyPAC offers non-holiday events in December, including “Dirty Dancing in Concert” on December 7th and comedy by James “Murr” Murray of the Impractical Jokers on December 8th.
•Holiday Events: SKyPAC joins Bowling Green’s Downtown Lights Up Event on December 1st, featuring the lighting of our Community Christmas tree and distributing free gingerbread kits sponsored by BAIRD Financial, among other festive activities. Following the event, BG OnStage presents “A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens Jr.” to keep the holiday spirit alive, sponsored by Community Education of Bowling Green, Atmos Energy, and B.L. Hunt Properties.
•On December 12th, don’t miss the enchanting “Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet,” featuring professional ballet dancers from around the world and a special appearance by young dancers from Bowling Green’s SOKY Dance Arts.
•December 16th marks the continuation of the beloved South Central Kentucky holiday tradition, the “J.C. Kirby & Son Christmas Spectacular” with Orchestra Kentucky, featuring vocalists Steve Amerson and Laurie Gayle Stephenson, sponsored by Graves Gilbert Clinic and J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapels & Crematory, co-sponsored by the Bank of Edmonson County, Gerald Printing, Houchens Industries, and guest artist sponsor Newton Financial Group.
•Wrapping up the holiday season on a high note, SKyPAC welcomes Michael W. Smith for “Michael W. Smith Christmas – Live in Concert” on December 21st, featuring special guest Michael Tait of the Newsboys. The following night, December 22nd, the touring Broadway production of “A Charlie Brown Christmas: Live on Stage” will bring the beloved characters to life on the SKyPAC stage, co-sponsored by Martin Kia.
