My favorite role as a buyer is finding new designers. I always strive to bring the best and brightest fashions to my customers. Please allow me to share some background on one of Pappagallo’s newest additions.
Emily McCarthy is a lifestyle and clothing brand based in Savannah, Georgia.
A graphic designer by trade and a Southerner by birth, McCarthy’s first love was creating stationery. She grew up in a small town and dreamed of living on the coast. She received her Bachelor of Arts in graphic design and photography from LaGrange College. Following graduation, Emily secured a job at Swoozie’s, an Atlanta-based paper, gift and lifestyle company, and entered the world of merchandise design.
Sometimes dreams really do come true. Emily married her college sweetheart (they also share a pack of red-headed, blue-eyed babes), moved to Savannah and turned her eye for prints and patterns into her design business. She has grown her home office to a 14,000 square foot headquarters on Victory Drive. In 2023, the company produced over 400 original styles, and sold over 67,600 pieces.
Emily McCarthy does not believe in boring. She’s all about bright bursts of color, finding beauty in the little things -like getting dressed up to run errands just because you feel like it. She believes that when you look good, you feel good – and you do good. While confidence comes from within, a bold color and flattering fit can truly dress you up in joy (just like her middle name).
Pappagallo welcomed Emily’s designs to our collections for spring. Look for her game day fashions arriving mid-July.
