Summer Vibes Music Festival returns to Franklin in August 

Summer is winding down, but the music is going to be cranked up in downtown Franklin, Kentucky for the 4th Annual Summer Vibes Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 24.

The 90’s rock band Everclear will headline the festival on the City of Franklin Stage in the heart of downtown Franklin. One of the leading alternative rock bands to emerge from the 90’s, Everclear has sold over 6 million records and had 12 Top 40 hit singles in Mainstream Rock, Alternative and Adult Top 40 radio. Their hits include “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” and “I Will Buy You a New Life.” Everclear received a Grammy nomination in 1998. The band will take the stage around 8pm.

In keeping with the 90’s vibe, entertainer Ryan Cabrera will serve as guest host and Master of Ceremonies for the day. Be sure to follow the Instagram and website for meet and greet giveaways!

Other bands rounding out the festival are fellow 90’s rock sensation, Sister Hazel. They will be on the stage around 7pm. Sister Hazel also sprang up in the 90’s in the alternative music scene. Their hits include “All For You,” “Change Your Mind,” and “Champagne High,” to name a few.

The Summer Vibes Music Festival kicks off at noon in the downtown streets that surround the historic Simpson County Courthouse. Parking is free and the event is free. Live music begins at 1pm with three local singer/songwriters. At 2pm Fritz Hager, who made it as a Top 5 Finalist on American Idol, will sing several of his more memorable songs.

Things will heat up as Kentucky native and country rocker Kelsey Hart is on stage at 3pm. The Curb Records recording artist and songwriter recently released “Life With You,” which put him at #1 on the Hot 30 Weekend Countdown on Sirius XM The Highway.

Rock band Gravel Switch, out of northern Kentucky, returns to the Summer Vibes stage at 4:30pm. They will be followed by with the energy-packed Gyasi, on stage at 5:45pm. Food trucks and beer garden open at noon.

The Summer Vibes Music Festival is presented by Simpson County Tourism Commission, Franklin-Simpson Renaissance and The City of Franklin, Kentucky.
