Franklin, Kentucky – A small town with a big heart

August is a busy time in Franklin, Kentucky and you can take your pick of adventurous fun.

The sunflowers at Ruby Branch Farms begin blooming in late July and will bloom all of August. Stroll through the largest sunflower maze in Kentucky and pick a few to take with you. A visit to the farm will also give you plenty of photo opportunities. The kiddos can enjoy the farm playground and you can even buy local beef to take home for supper. If you love live music, then you will not want to miss the Summer Vibes Music Festival on Aug. 24. The free event kicks off at 1pm in the historic downtown square with local musicians, and country artist Kelsey Hart takes the stage at 3pm. Hear the thunder of the hoofbeats on the turf track at Kentucky Downs Race Course when live horse racing returns for seven days in Franklin, Kentucky.
