Free Community Education program enhances child safety on the road

The Safe Seats | Safe Kids program, sponsored by Flora Templeton Stuart, Accident Injury Lawyers is a new initiative by Bowling Green-Warren County Community Education aimed at enhancing child safety on the road. This program offers free car seat checks and educational resources to caregivers, ensuring that children are securely fastened and properly protected while traveling.

With no dedicated facilities for child car seat checks in the area, this program fills a critical gap by offering certified car seat passenger technicians to assist caregivers. These technicians help verify correct installation and provide information on best practices for child passenger safety.

“We know how important it is for families to feel confident that their children are safe in the car,” said Bill Oldham, Executive Director for Community Education. “Our goal is to ensure every child is traveling as securely as possible, and this program is a vital resource for achieving that.”

MidSouth Lumber & Supply can help with all your building and remodeling needs.

Caregivers interested in having their car seats checked can visit the program’s website to submit an application for a car seat check. A certified technician will contact them to schedule an appointment at a convenient time.

The car seat checks are available to any resident in Kentucky. The checks are currently only performed in Bowling Green and special events in the BRADD region.

Along with the car seat checks, Safe Seats | Safe Kids also provides educational materials to help caregivers understand the nuances of car seat safety, including the importance of selecting the right seat based on a child’s age, weight, and height, as well as how to install and adjust it properly.

“Community Education is excited to offer this valuable service to families in our area, and we encourage all caregivers to take advantage of this free program,” stated Oldham. “Safety on the road starts with the right car seat, and Safe Seats | Safe Kids is here to help.”
