Med Center Health, the region’s most comprehensive healthcare system, is experiencing unprecedented growth. The summer of 2024 saw groundbreakings on two new expansion projects – the first, Med Center Health Glasgow, will offer primary and specialty care, diagnostic imaging, and lab services. The facility will open in 2025. The Medical Center at Bowling Green High Street Tower was the second groundbreaking. This facility will expand women’s and children’s service offerings to accommodate our growing communities, with an anticipated opening in the summer of 2026. In July, Med Center Health took ownership of Logan Memorial Hospital – now The Medical Center at Russellville – expanding specialty services to residents of Logan, Todd, and Christian counties, as well as surrounding areas.
With the recent purchase of the Sahetya Medical Institute building on 31-W ByPass, Med Center Health Primary Care has opened an additional Bowling Green location with four new providers. Douglas Johnson, M.D.; Lynetta Stiltner, D.O.; Angie Clark, APRN; and Heather Wells, APRN, lead the Med Center Health Primary Care Bowling Green, 31-W ByPass location. Med Center Health now offers 13 primary care clinics across eight counties with more than 50 healthcare providers to meet patients’ needs close to home.
“Growth to Med Center Health means there is the possibility to make an even bigger impact on people’s lives throughout our service area,” said JAT Mountjoy, Vice President of Physician Practices at Med Center Health. “By expanding physician services, we are able to provide as much care as possible closest to where our patients reside. If a patient can travel five to ten minutes to see a physician close to home, the chances of patients following through with the treatment plan greatly increases.”
Addressing key healthcare concerns across the region, such as cardiovascular disease, lung disease, and cancer, Med Center Health has expanded physician services in heart, lung, and vascular care. Med Center Health Western Kentucky Heart & Lung has six cardiologists and five pulmonologists, and Med Center Health Heart, Lung & Vascular Surgeons includes four vascular surgeons and will welcome their fifth cardiothoracic surgeon this fall. These specialists are critical to expanding the Med Center Health Lung Nodule Program, offering fast-track service to patients needing screenings, diagnostic testing, or surgery to diagnose and treat lung cancer – a primary health concern across the state.
“Med Center Health’s comprehensive cardiology, pulmonology, and vascular programs allow us to offer these critical services not only in Warren County but throughout South Central Kentucky,” said Mountjoy.
Through its continued growth, Med Center Health, a pillar of the community for nearly 100 years, continues to demonstrate its commitment to fulfilling its mission to care for people and improve the quality of life in the communities it serves.
