The merchants have all their holiday decorations and merchandise out and they are ready to help you find the perfect gift for yourself or someone else. One of the many bonuses of shopping small and local is the personalized experience you will have with each business owner. They know theirs and others’ merchandise inventory and if you can’t find something in their store, they will help you find it in another. Chain stores will not offer that, plus a hand-chosen gift is much more personable than just something bought online.
