The Western Kentucky University’s Department of Theatre and Dance, proudly presents Winterdance: ‘Tis the Season! Join the WKU Dance Company in this fun and family-friendly concert that will celebrate all the nostalgic joys of the changing seasons, special holidays, celebrations, and landmark events that happen throughout the year. Head on over to the Van Meter stage for stunning choreography and fantastic spectacle told through movement and design to join us for a SEASON OF CELEBRATIONS!
With over 30 pre-professional dancers, a narrated and engaging storyline, along with faculty- and student-developed scenic and technical elements, Winterdance: ‘Tis the Season has something for everyone. You will experience choreographic works in every genre that are thoughtfully created by WKU Dance Program Faculty and Guest Artists. You will experience the technical excellence and diversity of the WKU Dance Program as the dancers share excitement of the ever-changing seasons and all the holidays along the way; dancing their way through Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter with a flip of the calendar. Innovative movement and stories support the themes of pieces, all to share the Summer Solstice, the first day of school, the anticipation of seasonal shopping, and the glow of winter holidays. This passing of time is expressed through athletic and artistic dancing suitable for all ages!
