Spring cleaning: Set aside these items to donate to Hospice Restore

Spring is the ideal season to rejuvenate and declutter your living space. As you embark on your spring-cleaning journey, consider setting aside items to donate to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This kind act not only assists others, but also frees up valuable space in your home.

Donate to Habitat for Humanity Restore offering free pickup of donations.

By donating to the ReStore, you contribute to reducing landfill waste while giving your items a new lease on life. The donated items are sold at the ReStore, and the proceeds directly support local initiatives aimed at promoting home ownership within our community.

Items to Consider Donating While Spring Cleaning Your Home or Garage:

  1. Clothing

Clothing is the most obvious category for donations. Take some time to go through your closet and identify garments that are in good condition but haven’t been worn in over a year. Our clothing section is entirely run by volunteers, and we partner with local agencies that help adults develop job skills and contribute to our community.

2. Building Supplies and Tools
We accept a variety of tools, gardening equipment, lawn decorations, and leftover building supplies. We ask that items are in usable condition. Preferred donations include spare lumber that is at least three feet long and free of nails. It’s advisable to call the store before bringing these items to ensure they are acceptable donations.

3. Kitchen Appliances
Your unused kitchen appliances can find a new home. We gladly accept working countertop and larger kitchen appliances. Many of these items qualify for our free donation pickup service. For more information, visit habitatbg.org or call 270-901-0150.

4. Toys and Games
As your children grow, they may outgrow their toys and games. The ReStore welcomes gently used video games, toys, and more. These items can be dropped off during business hours or picked up in larger quantities with our FREE truck service.

5. Furniture and Home Decor
If you have furniture or home decor items you no longer need, consider donating them to the ReStore. Most pieces are eligible for our free donation pickup service. For more details, please visit habitatbg.org or contact the store directly at 270-901-0150.

Whether you are browsing the ReStore, looking for a place to donate items, or thinking about volunteering, your efforts play a crucial role in supporting local home ownership in our community. We offer a wide range of both new and donated items, with all proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity Warren County.
