Healing through the power of music
The Center for Courageous Kids will be kickin’ off the holiday season in style! The First Annual Moonshine & Music event, sponsored by JPS Wealth of Hilliard Lyons, benefiting The Center for Courageous Kids will take place on December 1, 2018, at the Venue at 939 Adams. Guests who attend that evening will enjoy silent and live auctions featuring trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas, dinner that will offer various cuisines
sure to satisfy all taste buds, and moonshine tastings provided by Sugarlands Distilleries of Gatlinburg, who will be bringing a variety of crowd pleasing flavors. If that isn’t enough fun to entice the community to come out, attendees will also get to hear live music by esteemed singer/songwriters.
The lineup for the evening will start with Florence, S.C., native Bridgette Tatum, who in 2009 co-wrote the most played song on country radio stations across the United States. The song, “She’s Country” (recorded and released by Platinum-selling country superstar Jason Aldean), held the #1 position on the chart for two consecutive weeks, and reached two million plays. In 2010, Tatum’s song, “Loud” was selected as the Official Theme Song for the ACC Football’s 2010 Season. In addition, Tatum’s other accolades include her own album released on iTunes, her single releases (“I Like My Cowboys Dirty,” “That’s Love Y’all,” “Hillbilly Rockstar”), a current Gretchen Wilson single (“Summertime Town” from “Ready to Get Rowdy”), and also Randy Houser (“Fired Up 2016”), Kristy Lee Cook (“Lookin’ for a Cowgirl”), The Farm, and George Clinton cuts.
Following Tatum, Nashville singer/songwriter Zach Stone will hit the stage. Stone, who was Belmont’s “Best Of The Best” award winner, signed a management deal with Jetpack Artist Ventures in 2015 and went on to partner with the management company and a group of A-list Nashville songwriters and musicians to record his six-song EP titled ASHES (produced by Rex Schnelle of Brooks & Dunn and Trace Adkins fame). Stone has since recorded and released a series of singles and corresponding music videos including “One Last Night” and his latest single, “Four Letter Word,” which received an enthusiastic welcome and acclaim by country fans. MusicRow Magazine recognized Stone for his studio performance with its DisCovery Award (March 2018) while the corresponding “Four Letter Word” music video premiered on Heartland-TV.
To complete the stellar line-up, Bowling Green native Kyle Daniel will be rocking it out. Daniel has toured with a variety of esteemed artists such as American Idol finalist and country blues musician Casey James. Before long he found himself touring alongside emerging country pop artist Clare Dunn who was on tour with Bob Seger at the time. During the time he was with James and Dunn, he had the opportunity to tour with Miranda Lambert. It’s obvious that Daniel’s passion for music has taken him far beyond his days of playing at local venues, as he now performs at iconic Nashville venues like the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry, as well as Bridgestone Arena and Nissan Stadium. Daniel released his first solo EP in March, which included a collection of five songs that show off his southern voice and unique sound that landed him a feature in Rolling Stone Country Magazine and listed him as one of the “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know.”
Proceeds from Moonshine & Music will benefit the campers who take part in CCK’s Music Therapy Program. CCK worked with 13 singer/songwriters this past summer to enhance its Music Therapy Program. The artists co-wrote songs that inspired 900 Courageous Campers to hit all the right notes and allowed the children with various medical diagnoses to express their feelings through the power of music. With this enhancement to the musical experience, campers were empowered by the opportunity to find their own rhythm in gaining a sense of control, independence, and self-expression. This event will welcome these artists back to the stage to share their story and perform their hit songs which will inspire CCK’s 300 guests.
