Something beautiful is growing in Franklin, Kentucky!
Ruby Branch Farms will boast the largest sunflower maze in Kentucky with its 9 acres of the big, beautiful blooms!
The maze is set to open around the first week of August and the blooms will fade at the end of the month.
Admission is $6 a person and children age 3 and under are admitted free.
You can pick a bouquet for yourself of sunflowers or zinnias for $1 a stem during regular business hours. The maze will be open Sunday-Friday from noon until 7pm and Saturdays from 9am until 7pm.
“The maze will be open as long as Mother Nature allows it, but we hope most of the month of August. When in doubt, come sooner rather than later!” said Laney Snider, co-owner of Ruby Branch Farms.
In addition to the sunflower maze, there will be a free kids’ play area, Ruby Branch merchandise, Lake Spring Beef, Cattle Company Beef and Chaney’s Dairy Barn ice cream.
Professional photographers are allowed to use the sunflower maze for sessions for $25 per session fee. No appointments are necessary, but sessions must be during normal open hours.
“It is easy to find your way thought the maze. You’ll find yourself at some dead ends, but the maze is not hard to navigate! However, kids under 15 still need to be accompanied by an adult,” Mrs. Snider said.
Sunflowers will be celebrated on a special Saturday at the farm. The Sunflower Maze Experience at Ruby Branch Farms will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12. The first 180 people to purchase tickets (which can be purchased online and at the door) will receive a free goody bag! A petting zoo will be on-site from 9am until 1pm. Several food trucks, jewelry and clothing vendors will be at the farm that day as well. This event is sponsored by the Simpson County Tourism Commission.
Ruby Branch Farms also hosts a corn maze in the fall with pumpkins, mums, and fall décor as well as live Christmas tree sales in the winter.
Ruby Branch Farms is located less than five miles off I-65, exit 2 at 780 Lake Spring Road, Franklin, Kentucky. The farm is 20 minutes south of Bowling Green, Kentucky and 30 minutes north of Nashville, Tennessee.
