2024 Summer Nights Concert Series
The month of June in Franklin, Kentucky means our Summer Nights Concerts Series has begun. This year is no different and Renaissance has been doing these free concerts for over 25 years now. We have an action-packed line-up with some returning favorites along with new faces. Our season kicks off on June 14th and runs through August. If you have never been to Franklin and visited one of these concerts, you are missing out. We bring country, classic rock, R&B, Motown, & a little Funk to our courthouse bandstand each year. Dancing to great music is what our crowd loves to do, so make sure to wear your dancing shoes… most likely you will end up on the dance floor or maybe just dancing around your chair as a lot of people do. The huge trees on the lawn will give plenty of shade while you eat and wait for the band to start. Multiple food vendors are always on site to give plenty of eating options, or you can come early and visit one of the downtown restaurants.
The 2024 Summer Nights Concert Series is presented by Franklin-Simpson Renaissance and sponsored by Simpson County Tourism, Franklin Bank & Trust, Hunt Ford, EH Harris Lumber, and Coldwell Banker The Advantage Realtor Group. “During the summer, we host a variety of events on our downtown square and most of them are free. Our downtown is unique, beautiful and a perfect setting for concerts, music festivals, and other special events for kids and families,” said Kim Roberts, Executive Director of Franklin-Simpson Renaissance. “It is worth your while to come early and do some shopping with our local merchants. The variety of shops we have is endless and the merchants love seeing old and new faces each season.”
The concerts start at 7pm and wrap up around 9pm. Lawn chair rentals are available each concert night, so if you forget your chair, no worries. Restrooms are always available. The series kicks off June 14th with Broadway the Clown making free balloon art for the kids, and the Brandon Harris Band featuring Franklin’s very own Tom Killen playing steel guitar. Andy and the Rockers will be on stage June 21st and a new face will appear downtown on June 28th. The Tyrone Smith Revue, also known as Super T, will bring a whole new flair to the bandstand with his electric personality and full band.
“Franklin is growing and so are our events. We are a small town with a big heart, and we know how to put on great events. I take pride in our historic downtown district and enjoy creating a beautiful environment that Franklin can be proud of. Planning activities that the entire family can enjoy while focusing on the things people say they want is a very exciting part of my job,” said Mrs. Roberts.
